Pets for Vets

The City of Irvine is proud to support the Pets for Vets Act, a state law that requires animal shelters to waive cat and dog adoption fees for military veterans. Beginning January 2020, veterans visiting the Irvine Animal Care Center can add a new pet to their home for free (certain licensing and puppy wellness fees may still apply). In support of our community, the center will also waive rabbit adoption fees for our veterans.

To qualify for the discount, potential adopters must bring their current valid driver’s license or identification card imprinted with the word “veteran.”
