University Community Center

University Community Center is a multi-use facility with two buildings that offer a variety of classes for the community. Building #1 includes a multipurpose room, craft room, and kitchen. Building #2 includes a multipurpose room and courtyard, a kitchen, and an exercise room. The center also features a variety of athletic fields and courts. Please note: Reservations are not available for the picnic tables; they are available on a first-come, first-served basis for groups of 50 or fewer. Alcohol and vendors (e.g., caterers or entertainers) are not permitted. 

Programs

The City of Irvine offers a variety of classes at University Community Center, including youth and adult dance courses; kids educational and recreational programs; and sports activities such as tennis and skateboarding. Available Facility Reservations

Multipurpose Room #1

University Community Center’s 850-square-foot Multipurpose Room #1 features wood floors, a fireplace, and access to an outdoor patio area. It can accommodate banquet- and theater-style seating. Maximum room capacity is up to 51 attendees, depending on setup. 

Multipurpose Room #2

University Community Center’s 1,980-square-foot Multipurpose Room #2 features wood floors and vaulted ceilings, with access to a wraparound outdoor courtyard area. It can accommodate banquet- and theater-style seating, with an option for a dance area. Maximum capacity is 80 to 139 attendees, depending on setup. Courtyard is unfurnished, and rental applicant must provide their own tables and chairs for outdoor use. 


Kitchens

University Community Center features a kitchenette in Building #1 and a warming kitchen in Building #2. Building #1's kitchenette is available with a Multipurpose Room #1 or craft room reservation, and requires an add-on fee. Building #2's warming kitchen is available with a Multipurpose Room #2 reservation, and requires an add-on fee. No cooking of food is permitted in either kitchen. Prepared or catered food may be kept warm or cold by utilizing the kitchen amenities. The kitchenette includes a fridge, oven, and stove. The warming kitchen includes a fridge, microwave, oven, and stove, and also features drive-up access. No barbecuing permitted.

Courtyard

The reservation of University Community Center’s 300-square-foot patio requires an add-on fee. The courtyard/patio can only be reserved if the applicant has a reservation in Multipurpose Room #2. The patio doesn't allow the facility's chairs or tables to be outside; applicant may bring their own or rent from a third party.


Exercise Room

University Community Center's 638-square-foot exercise room features wood floors and ceilings, and one mirrored wall. It can be reserved for dance or exercise activities. Maximum room capacity is 30 to 48 attendees, depending on setup.

Craft Room

University Community Center's craft room is 600 square feet with linoleum flooring than can accommodate banquet- or theater-style seating. The room capacity is 20 to 40 attendees, depending on setup.

University Community Center's rooms are available for rent; hourly rates vary by room, group, and event type (see the Reservation Policy for more details). *A $20 additional hourly fee will be charged for reservations of premium rooms during primetime hours. Primetime hours are 5–9 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.–10 p.m. Saturday, and noon–6 p.m. Sunday. Find more information on reservation hours and primetime fees here.

Please note: The above fees apply to room rental only. Events including alcohol will incur additional fees. Other needed services, such as security, porter service, or equipment rentals, are available with additional fees.
