Sweet Shade Ability Center
Please note: To help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in our community, some indoor facilities and outdoor recreational spaces may be closed or have modified access until further notice.
Irvine outdoor park spaces remain open for passive use by individuals within the same household, while wearing a face covering and maintaining physical distance from others outside of their household. Playgrounds are open. No gatherings, no interaction between households, and no drop-in use for games, scrimmages, practices, or organized play of any kind. Sweet Shade Ability Center is located inside Sweet Shade Neighborhood Park, and is the home of City of Irvine's Disability Services. The center was renovated in the summer of 2019 and features a multipurpose room, kitchen, courtyard, garden, and play area. The center provides Disability Services programs to the community during the week, but is available for public reservations on Saturdays. Programs
The City of Irvine offers a variety of activities for individuals with sensory, physical, or cognitive disabilities, and their family members at Sweet Shade Ability Center.
