Jeffrey Open Space Trail Extension Project

Jeffrey Open Space Trail Extension Project
(Barranca Parkway to Walnut Ave.)

Project Description

The proposed project is an extension of the Jeffrey Open Space Trail (JOST) and would construct a lighted Class I off-street bicycle-pedestrian trail along the east side of Jeffrey Road, between Barranca Parkway and Walnut Ave. The proposed trail would cross roadways at-grade at existing intersections, and no new grade separations are proposed. Also, the proposed project would construct a rest area at the northeast corner of Jeffrey Road and Barranca Parkway. The project is consistent with the General Plan Circulation Element Trails Network and provides a significant gap closure in the JOST system, linking trails and communities.
