Jeffrey Open Space Trail Extension Project
(Barranca Parkway to the 5 Freeway)
Project Description
The proposed project is an extension of the Jeffrey Open Space Trail (JOST) and would construct a lighted Class I off-street bicycle-pedestrian trail along the east side of Jeffrey Road, between Barranca Parkway and the 5 Freeway. The proposed trail would cross roadways at-grade at existing intersections, and includes a bridge over the 5 Freeway. Also, the proposed project would construct a rest area at the northeast corner of Jeffrey Road and Barranca Parkway. The project is consistent with the General Plan Circulation Element Trails Network and provides a significant gap closure in the JOST system, linking trails and communities.
