Irvine Animal Care Center 2020 Virtual 5K Supports Animals in Need

Monday, March 30, 2020

The Irvine Animal Care Center is inviting all runners, walkers, and animal-lovers to take part in its 2020 Virtual 5K throughout the month of April to support animals in need. The center’s Virtual 5K can be completed at any location you choose April 1–May 17, can be done at your own pace, and is timed yourself.

The Virtual 5K is an ideal way to support animals in need while staying safe as our community continues to do its part to mitigate the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). Log your 5K in walks around the neighborhood with your household members, or while running on the treadmill in your own living room. You can help the center’s animals, and stay healthy and active yourself, while still practicing social distancing!

Just submit your entry fee of $35 at, complete your race by April 30, and receive an exclusive medal and certificate of completion. Enter your four-legged friend to run with you in the Virtual 5K for an additional $8, and they can also receive their very own medal for completing the race. Proceeds go toward special programs at the Irvine Animal Care Center, which offers services including pet adoptions and licensing for Irvine residents.
