Join speaker Frida Hovik in the Farm + Food Lab as she shares how farming, processing, and food choices can have meaningful impacts on nutrition and health. Frida is a graduate student at USC studying nutrition, health span, and longevity. She has a background in nutrition counseling, diabetes, and obesity prevention and is passionate about sharing this evidence-based research.
On October 17, Frida will take elementary-age learners through the adventure of how local food is grown, who is growing it, and how it is prepared and eaten. Event is free, but registration is recommended at yourirvine.org (registration opens August 22). Ages 5-10.
This workshop is part of the Nutrition in the Lab Series; see a full listing of events by searching "Nutrition in the Lab" at yourirvine.org.
