Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation and FivePoint are co-hosting a live broadcast of the public memorial at Staples Center, at the Orange County Great Park Championship Soccer Stadium on Monday, February 24 beginning at 10 a.m. This is a free public event.
The public is invited to attend as Irvine Mayor Christina L. Shea delivers her State of the City Address on February 25 at 6 p.m in the Council Chamber. It begins with a free family-friendly event, featuring grazing goats from 3-6 p.m., followed by a public reception at 5 p.m.
To support Working Wardrobes' rebuilding efforts, City of Irvine facilities will serve as donation locations. Donations will be accepted through April 10 during regular hours at Irvine Civic Center, Lakeview and Rancho Seniors Centers, and Trabuco Center.
The way Orange County residents vote is changing this year. Beginning with the upcoming March 3 Presidential Primary Election, the Orange County Registrar of Voters is replacing its 1,200 precinct polling locations with 188 Vote Centers including 16 in Irvine.
The community is invited to attend the City of Irvine’s first Safe Community Task Force 2020 meeting on Thursday, March 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Council Chamber. The Safe Community Task Force 2020 was established by the City Council in September 2019 to ensure Irvine remains a safe city.
At its October 10, 2019 meeting, the Irvine City Council voted to adopt Ordinance 19-17, which expanded the City's current smoking prohibitions to include all public places, such as sidewalks, streets, and alleys as well as common areas of multi-unit residences.
Orange County Health Care Agency has confirmed one case of novel coronavirus. This individual is a male in his 50's, and a traveler from Wuhan, China. At this time, there is no evidence that person-to-person transmission has occurred in Orange County.
