Water Aerobics

Please note: The City of Irvine continues to follow state and federal health and safety guidelines to protect the public against COVID-19 infection. Face coverings are recommended, and required in certain settings as outlined in the California Department of Public Health Guidance for the Use of Face Coverings.

Aquatics operations at William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center and Northwood Aquatics Center have resumed. Programming such as lap swimming, shallow water lap swim, water aerobics, and Learn to Swim will be offered by reservation only through yourirvine.org.

 


 

Classes are great for both new and longtime participants in water fitness. All classes are held at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center. For times and descriptions, please see below.

WATER AEROBICS

Great for both new and longtime participants of water fitness. This fun, fast-paced workout helps tone without stressing the back or knees. Cardio conditioning is followed by total body resistance work and toning. When available, Tuesday and Thursday morning classes will be offered in the deep water. Program is offered year-round.

Please note:
Schedules can change with minimal notice; please check with Instructor for updates. Parking may be problematic during evening classes.

FEES
Adults (16 & older) $7 per visit, $5 when making an online reservation 

Please note:

  • Class reservations are for 50 minutes only; please plan on arriving up to 5 minutes before your scheduled time and departing within 5 minutes of your end time.
  • Registration will open one week in advance on Sunday at 6 p.m. for residents and 9 p.m. for non-residents.

Please feel free to bring your own equipment.

 

SHALLOW WATER LAP SWIM & LAP SWIM

Shallow Water Lap Swim is an excellent aerobic and calorie burning workout where you can burn up to 550 calories per hour. Work out both your upper and lower body while taking a break from the heat and high-impact from land activities. Program is offered year-round.

Shallow Water Lap Swim resumes Monday, June 15. Lane reservations required. 

Shallow Water Lap Swim Information:

  • Please plan on arriving up to 5 minutes before your scheduled time and departing within 5 minutes of your end time.
  • Transfers/Withdrawals: please email aquatics@cityofirvine.org one week prior to your scheduled day. Requests made later than 7 days will not be processed.
  • Registration for each week will open on Sunday at 9 p.m.
