Celebrate National Public Works Week with the City of Irvine!
Our free event was held Wednesday, May 24, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Great Park Hangar 244 to learn more about the City of Irvine Public Works & Transportation Department and what we do to serve our community.
Staff & Careers
City staff from 12 divisions within the department will be on-site to discuss their career and how their roles impact daily operations in Irvine. Staff from the following divisions will talk to visitors about their trade, current projects, and noteworthy and upcoming work planned in Irvine. Divisions represented include:

Gain exposure to the real equipment used in the Public Works & Transportation Department and see how they work! Equipment on-site will include:
- Path truck
- Asphalt paver
- Tractor
- Dump truck
- Traffic Control Truck
- Street Sweeper
- Vacuum truck
- Grinder trailer
- Interactive CCTV cameras
Food & Giveaways
Food and treats from TK Burgers and Scooter's Italian Ice will be available for purchase.

No RSVP is required. Hangar 244 is located at 8000 Great Park Blvd. Guests should take Great Park Boulevard, turn right to Beacon, turn right to Bosque, and follow on-site signage to park in Parking Lot 2.
