New Features: e-Comment and ZOOM Web-Conferencing for Online Meeting Participation 

The City is pleased to announce that the regular Finance Commission meeting will be available through Zoom web-conferencing in an effort to enhance community engagement, and will include a dial in conference call line.

The Zoom web conference will be available to join 60 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the Finance Commission meeting to allow time for participants to become familiar with the new process.

e-Comment allows community members to submit comments on upcoming agenda items, as well as throughout a Finance Commission meeting.

HOW TO SUBMIT A COMMENT:

To submit an e-comment on an upcoming meeting agenda prior to commencement of the meeting, click here and select the respective agenda item.

To submit an e-comment on an upcoming meeting agenda during the meeting, click here and select the respective agenda item.

HOW TO WATCH A LIVE MEETING:

Community members may provide live public comments via Zoom during Finance Commission meetings. Click here and use the passcode below. You can also join via the Zoom app on your smartphone or tablet, or in a web browser at https://zoom.us/join by entering the Meeting ID and Passcode below.

Please provide your name in the Zoom application to allow the meeting host to identify you when it is your time to speak. We suggest installing and testing the Zoom software on your device prior to the commencement of the meeting.

HOW TO CONNECT TO THE ZOOM WEB CONFERENCE BY TELEPHONE

To join to the Zoom web conference from your phone, dial 669-900-6833 or 346-248-7799. When prompted use the below Meeting ID and Passcode.

The meeting host will identify you by the last 3 digits of your phone when it is your time to speak.

When requested by the meeting host, call-in users can unmute and mute their phones by pressing *6. Call-in users can raise their hand by pressing *9 but may not lower their hand once raised.

YOU MAY SUBMIT COMMENTS ON ANY AGENDA ITEM OR ON ANY ITEM NOT ON THE AGENDA, IN WRITING VIA MAIL TO “ATTN: FINANCE COMMISSION,” ONE CIVIC CENTER PLAZA, IRVINE, CA 92606; BY EMAIL TO FMSP@CITYOFIRVINE.ORG; OR THROUGH E-COMMENT AT CITYOFIRVINE.ORG/FINANCECOMMISSION. E-COMMENTS SUBMITTED AT LEAST TWO HOURS PRIOR TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE MEETING WILL BE DISTRIBUTED TO THE FINANCE COMMISSION AT THE MEETING. THE REQUEST TO SPEAK FORM ON THE KIOSK ASSISTS THE CHAIR IN ENSURING THAT ALL PERSONS WISHING TO ADDRESS THE FINANCE COMMISSION ARE RECOGNIZED. IT ALSO ENSURES THE ACCURATE IDENTIFICATION OF MEETING PARTICIPANTS IN THE FINANCE COMMISSION MINUTES. YOUR NAME WILL BE CALLED AT THE TIME THE MATTER IS HEARD BY THE FINANCE COMMISSION. CITY POLICY IS TO LIMIT PUBLIC TESTIMONY TO UP TO THREE MINUTES PER SPEAKER ON AGENDIZED ITEMS, AND DURING GENERAL PUBLIC COMMENTS (UNLESS THE TIME LIMIT IS EXTENDED BY THE CHAIR), WHICH INCLUDES THE PRESENTATION OF ELECTRONIC OR AUDIO-VISUAL INFORMATION. SPEAKERS MAY NOT YIELD THEIR TIME TO OTHER PERSONS.
