OC Waste & Recycling (OCWR) will be participating in International Compost Awareness Week (ICAW) from May 5-11, 2019. The focus of ICAW is to educate the public about the important benefits of recycling organic waste into compost.
May is National Bike Month! Irvine has one of the nation’s most interconnected and well-maintained bicycle systems with 362.8 miles of on-street and off-street bikeways to encourage the use of bicycles as a safe and convenient means of transportation for both commuting and recreational purposes.
The City of Irvine is developing the Strategic Energy Plan to create a sustainable, economically feasible, and actionable road map for City operations and to identify effective measures the Irvine community can implement to become energy efficient. The City will seek stakeholder input.
As California continues to adopt cleaner resources to generate energy, the cost to deliver power throughout the day is changing. Energy is now less costly during midday and more costly in the late afternoon and evening. To align with these changing costs, Time-of-Use hours will change in March 2019.
