Honor Nation’s Troops at Online Veterans Day Ceremony on Wednesday, November 11

IRVINE, Calif. (November 2, 2020): Join the City of Irvine on Wednesday, November 11, at 11 a.m., for an online Veterans Day Ceremony to honor America’s veterans for their patriotism, love of country, and commitment to serve and sacrifice for the common good. In honor of our veterans and in support of their families, the City’s traditional Veterans Day event has been modified this year to allow the community to pay tribute to our service men and women while still maintaining critical health and safety precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

“We are looking forward to honoring those who dedicate so much to our country this Veterans Day while encouraging the community to stay safe and healthy,” said Irvine Mayor Christina L. Shea. “We hope everyone will join us online November 11 to pay tribute to our local and national veterans.”

The online Veterans Day Ceremony will feature a prerecorded presentation from the mayor paying tribute to our nation’s troops — past and present. The video program will also include presentations from former ceremonies and a message by commanding officers from Irvine’s adopted 2/11 Marine Battalion.

The video will be available to the public online at cityofirvine.org. For more information, call 949-724-6606.
