Ceramics Open Studio

Please note: To help mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in our community, some indoor facilities and outdoor recreational spaces may be closed or have modified access until further notice.

The Irvine Fine Arts Center continues to be closed to the public at large until further notice, and an opening date has not been determined. Due to current state guidelines, exhibitions are closed to the public. Modified recreational programming will be available to the community, and is available for registration at yourirvine.org

Irvine outdoor park spaces remain open for passive use by individuals within the same household, while wearing a face covering and maintaining physical distance from others outside of their household. Playgrounds are open. No gatherings, no interaction between households, and no drop-in use for games, scrimmages, practices, or organized play of any kind. Learn more at the City Facility Updates webpage.

The Ceramics Studio is fully equipped with three large gas kilns firing at Cone 10, two low-fire electric kilns firing at Cone 06, and a Raku kiln. More than a dozen wheels line the perimeter of the studio along with two slab rollers, a spray booth, and damp room.

Studio technicians maintain scheduled bisque and glaze firings for work produced in the studio. In addition, assorted glazes are provided in the studio’s glaze room and stoneware clay is available for purchase.

Previous studio experience and closed-toe shoes are required. For more information and to purchase passes, please call the Irvine Fine Arts Center front desk at 949-724-6880.
