2024 Summer in the City

The City Summer in the City is an exciting series featuring a variety of family-favorite activities, including Movies on the Lawn, Summer Dance Party, and Sizzlin' Summer Concerts, throughout June, July, and August. 

Movies on the Lawn:

The community is invited to the Great Park Terraced Lawn for an outdoor family movie night on the big screen. Bring low-back chairs, blankets and a picnic, or purchase tasty treats from gourmet food trucks and a snack bar. Guests can arrive early with food trucks available beginning at 6:30 p.m. Movies begin after sunset and are weather permitting.

Summer Concerts:

Enjoy family-friendly concerts at Mike Ward Community Park — Woodbridge covering a variety of music genres. Concerts begin at 5:30 p.m. Guests can bring picnic-style treats or purchase snacks from gourmet food trucks.

Summer Dance Party:

The Summer Dance Party is a family-friendly party, held at the Great Park from 6 to 9:30 p.m. Its designed for guests of all ages, as it will be a throwback to 90's favorites with DJ and live music. Food trucks will be available on site to purchase snacks and drinks.

All Summer in the City events are free (no tickets or pre-registration required). Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests should bring low-back chairs and blankets; layered clothing is recommended.

The Great Park Terraced Lawn and Hangar 244 are located at 8000 Great Park Blvd. Mike Ward Community Park — Woodbridge is located at 20 Lake Road.

Pacific Symphony:

Pack a picnic, grab a lawn chair or blanket, and gather the family for an evening of outdoor summer fun! A long-standing summer tradition, Symphony in the Cities, brings thousands of people together to enjoy a variety of popular classics, pop tunes, and patriotic songs at a local park each year. This year’s concert will be held at the new temporary music venue in the Great Park North Lawn. Pre-concert, family-friendly activities begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by the concert beginning at 7 p.m.
