Irvine Police Department to Host Annual Open House

Irvine, Calif. (Sept. 13, 2017) – The Irvine Police Department will welcome visitors during its annual Open House on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Irvine Civic Center, 1 Civic Center Plaza.

This new tradition grants access inside the Irvine Police Department, where attendees can learn what goes into policing a City of 267,000 residents. The day will feature Department tours, vehicle displays, interactive activities, a bike rodeo and more. 

Visitors will have an opportunity to meet IPD’s new Mounted Unit, with horses Frosty and Captain, as well as K9s Kenny and Barrett.

Bounce houses and face painting will add to the excitement for children. Visitors can purchase items from a variety of food trucks that will be onsite at the event.

Free shuttles will be provided from offsite parking lots at Woodbridge and Creekside High Schools. Residents can also choose to ride their bikes to the Civic Center and take advantage of a complimentary bike valet. Admission to the event is also free.
