Irvine Child Care Committee Seeks Volunteer Members

IRVINE, CA (October 23, 2015): The City of Irvine is seeking volunteers to fill two vacancies on the Irvine Child Care Committee to serve in the categories of government, civic or community member. The Committee comprises five City Council appointees, two community child care providers, two parents/guardians, three higher-education liaison appointees and two community representatives.

The Committee works in a cooperative relationship with the support of the Community Services Commission, the Child Care Coordination Office and the Community Development Department to enhance child care and education, provide outreach and serve as a community liaison.

Applicants must commit to a two-year term of active participation and attend monthly Committee meetings held on the second Tuesday of select months from 9-10:30 a.m. at the Heritage Park Community Center or other designated Irvine locations.

Applications will be accepted October 26 through November 30 and are available online at cityofirvine.org and at the Irvine Child Resource Center, located at 14341 Yale Ave. Completed applications must be received by 5 p.m. Monday, November 30. The appointment period for the Irvine Child Care Committee begins February 2016.
