Future Creatives on Display: Irvine Fine Arts Center High School Art Exhibition Returns

The City of Irvine is pleased to announce the opening of the 2024 High School Art Exhibition, presented as part of the Art at City Hall series. This annual exhibition opens Monday, April 8, and will conclude Friday, May 24. A free opening reception will be held Thursday, April 25, 4:30–6:30 p.m., at Irvine City Hall. 

The annual High School Art Exhibition spotlights the ambitious imaginations and diversity of young artists and future creatives. The exhibition features a curated selection of artworks ranging from photography, drawing, painting, ceramics, and mixed media pieces that span a diversity of themes and styles. Celebrating the unique perspectives and talents of budding artists from Irvine high schools — the exhibition features students from Beckman High School, Crean Lutheran High School, Irvine High School, Northwood High School, Portola High School, University High School, and Woodbridge High School. 

This year’s exhibition is guest juried by Marissa Sykes, a professional cross-genre conceptual artist with two decades of professional experience in creative education. Sykes will present awards to five outstanding artworks and the artists who created them at the opening reception April 25  

Art at City Hall is an ongoing series of art exhibitions that brings artwork from local artists to Irvine City Hall. Exhibitions focus on art with an Irvine perspective and feature artists of all age groups. New exhibitions open seasonally. 

City Hall is open to the public 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Monday–Thursday and 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Friday. The exhibit, parking, and opening reception are free and open to the public. For more information, visit cityofirvine.org/artatcityhall
