The City of Irvine is celebrating its 50th anniversary of incorporation this year. Many exciting activities are planned to pay homage to these remarkable 50 years. Looks for a celebration of Irvine's past and future through engagement of partners, including businesses, educational, nonprofits, faith-based, and multicultural organizations as we create a historical timeline highlighting all the great accomplishments of Irvine.

Irvine at 50

Watch this video retrospective of the City of Irvine's first 50 years, produced by the City's ICTV team.

 The City will be launching our 50/50 Initiative that includes various contests highlighting residents’ memories of the previous 50 years and a look at the next 50. These will include:
  • Photography, music, art, dance contests as well as a City scavenger hunt;
  • Preservation of the City through acts of service, including volunteer efforts;
  • Highlighting Irvine’s youth, fine arts, as well as local businesses;
  •  Featuring Irvine residents and the City’s history through a video series; and
  • Community celebration to let all Irvine residents share in this milestone.

Check this page and our social media sites throughout the year for announcements, news, and activities related to the City's 50th Anniversary. We look forward to celebrating with you!
