Irvine Children, Youth and Families Advisory Committee

The Committee's mission is to provide ongoing review and evaluation of the City's children, youth, and family-related initiatives. 

The Irvine Children, Youth and Families Advisory Committee meets quarterly to review and evaluate the City of Irvine's Strategic Plan for Children, Youth and Families. Meetings are held 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays at Irvine Civic Center.

Composition

The committee is comprised of 15 voting members consisting of liaison and appointee representatives. The liaison members include two members of the Community Services Commission, two Members-at-Large, two youth members, and five agency representatives. The appointee members represent five City Council members, each appointing one representative.

Apply to be a Member-At-Large

The City of Irvine is accepting applications to fill two community member-at-large vacancies on the Irvine Children, Youth and Families Advisory Committee (ICYFAC). Comprised of 15 members, the ICYFAC is an advisory body to the Community Services Commission and provides ongoing review and evaluation of programs and services that support the development of Irvine children, youth, and families.

The City of Irvine is currently in the process of updating the Strategic Plan for Children, Youth and Families. ICYFAC will play an important role in this update and help to review, evaluate and guide the direction of future programming.

Applicants must live or work in Irvine and be willing to commit to a voluntary two-year term of active participation. Committee meetings are held quarterly on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Irvine Civic Center.

The application period begins Wednesday, February 15. Completed applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 15.

Irvine Children, Youth and Families Advisory Committee Meeting

The City is pleased to announce that the regular Irvine Children, Youth and Families Advisory Committee (ICYFAC) meetings will be available in-person or live streamed through Zoom, as well as a dial-in conference call line. In an effort to enhance community engagement, community members may submit comments via email to cs@cityofirvine.org on upcoming agenda items, or community members may provide live public comments in-person or via Zoom during ICYFAC meetings.
