Programs and Activities Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the City of Irvine Senior Services Department. The majority of our services take place during weekdays program service hours (9a.m. - 5p.m.), specifically lunch hours and earlier. We have limited needs for volunteer assistance on the weekends or after 5 p.m. Our minimum requirement for volunteer service is two hour shifts on a weekly basis for three to six months.

Dance Programs

The Little Big Band Dance and Raggtimers Music & Dance programs are a fabulous opportunity to listen to music, socialize, and dance the afternoon away. We are in need of a host/hostess, as well as band members

Shifts Available at the Lakeview Senior Center:

  • Thursdays from 2-4 p.m. (Little Big Band Dance)
  • 2nd and 4th Thursdays from noon-1:30 p.m. (Raggtimers Music & Dance)

Fitness Center Attendant

Assist with the daily activities in the Fitness Center, including clerical work, customer service, and assisting participants on the fitness equipment.

Shifts Available at the Trabuco Center: 

  • Mondays from 10 a.m.-noon and 4-6 p.m.
  • Tuesdays from 4-6 p.m.
  • Wednesdays from 5-6 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
  • Thursdays from 4-6 p.m.
  • Fridays from 8-10 a.m., 2-4 p.m. and 4-6 p.m.

Shifts Available at the Rancho Senior Center:

  • Mondays from 8-10 a.m.
  • Tuesdays from 10 a.m.-noon
  • Fridays from 8-10 a.m.
  • Saturdays from 9-11 a.m. and 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

IMA English Mentor- Korean/English

We are in need of a bilingual speaker to teach a beginner course. This volunteer must make a commitment of at least 6 months, and should be available to begin in January 2018. Please contract Gabriel Franco for more information.
