Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the City of Irvine Senior Services Department. The majority of our services take place during weekdays program service hours (9a.m. - 5p.m.), specifically lunch hours and earlier. We have limited needs for volunteer assistance on the weekends or after 5 p.m. Our minimum requirement for volunteer service is two hour shifts on a weekly basis for three to six months.
Assist members with basic questions and troubleshooting, including, logging in/out, software, printing, scanning, the internet, etc. Monitor computer lab use to help ensure only registered members are using the lab. Help to enforce computer lab rules and regulations. Communicate with staff any issues, concerns, or maintenance needs
- Mondays from 8-10 a.m. and noon-2 p.m
- Wednesdays from 1-2 p.m.
- Thursdays from 4-6 p.m.
- Fridays from 8-10 a.m. and noon-2 p.m.
Fitness Center Attendant
Assist with the daily activities in the Fitness Center, including clerical work, customer service, and assisting participants on the fitness equipment.
Shifts Available at Trabuco Center:
- Mondays from 8-10 a.m.
- Tuesdays from 2-4 p.m. and 4-6 p.m.
- Wednesdays from 6-8 p.m.
- Thursdays from noon-2 p.m..
- Fridays from 2-4 p.m. and 4-6 p.m.
Shifts Available at Rancho Senior Center:
- Mondays from 10 a.m.-noon
- Saturdays from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
- Sundays from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Greet participants as they arrive, Give tours to visitors, Communicate with staff any issues or concerns. Bilingual volunteers in English and other languages are especially sought after for this position.

- Wednesdays from noon-2 p.m.
- Fridays from 9-10 a.m. and noon-2 p.m.
Sing-a-Long Substitute Leader
Volunteer needed to sub at the Sing-a-Long program held on Mondays from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at Lakeview Senior Center. Required to be able to sight read piano music and lead the singing of 15-20 participants. Other duties include passing out and collecting lyric sheets.
