Irvine Meals on Wheels' mission is to assist eligible homebound senior residents in maintaining their independence by providing nutritious, healthy, great-tasting meals delivered to their homes. Irvine Meals on Wheels is a joint partnership between the City of Irvine and the Irvine chapter of National Charity League. For more than 30 years, National Charity League's Irvine chapter has adopted Irvine Meals on Wheels as its main philanthropic activity, providing volunteer driver support and funding for administrative program costs.

Meals on Wheels Holiday Fundraiser
We invite you to join us in supporting the Irvine Meals on Wheels program this holiday season. Donations are needed to provide home-delivered meals for an increasing number of Irvine homebound seniors. Last year, a record number of meals – nearly 70,000 – were provided to eligible homebound seniors who rely on the program for health and nutritional support.
Irvine Meals on Wheels is much more than just a meal. In addition to providing three nutritionally balanced meals on weekdays, the program also provides important safety services, such as wellness checks, linkage with resources and in-home care management assessments. Due to a 27 percent increase in program participation over the past two years, there is currently a waiting list for home-delivered meal services. Your support can help us meet this growing need in the community.
Please consider supporting Irvine Meals on Wheels this holiday season with a tax-deductible donation. Your donation will directly support the provision of meals to qualifying Irvine seniors currently on the program’s waiting list. Donations may be designated in honor or in memory of a loved one, and Corporate Employee Matching Gifts are also accepted.
Orientation tours for the Irvine Meals on Wheels program are available. Additionally, volunteers are needed to help with packaging and delivering Irvine Meals on Wheels. Volunteer opportunities are available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at Lakeview Senior Center.
Volunteer for Meals on Wheels
Volunteers provide a vital service to older adults who are unable to prepare meals for themselves. Meals are prepared at the Lakeview Senior Center and are delivered each weekday between 10:40 a.m. and 1 p.m. Volunteer requirements include:
- a minimum 6 month service commitment
- proof of a current driver license and current auto insurance
- passing a Live Scan background check
