Irvine Child Care Committee

Purpose and Mission

The Child Care Committee is an advisory body of the City of Irvine, reporting to the Community Services Commission, providing input on the needs of the community pertaining to child care related issues. The Committee’s mission is to develop recommendations related to the availability of affordable quality child care and early education in Irvine.

The Committee works collaboratively with City departments and community organizations to enhance the provision of child care and early education services, providing outreach, and serving as a liaison to the community by informally sharing information learned at meetings, promoting City events for families and early childhood educators and sharing questions, concerns and ideas from the community with the Committee.

Composition

The committee is comprised of 14 voting members consisting of liaison and appointee representatives. The liaison members include two community members, two child care provider members, and two parent/guardian members. The appointee members represent three educational organizations and five City Council members, each appointing one representative.

Irvine Child Care Committee Meeting

The City is pleased to announce that the regular Irvine Child Care Committee (ICCC) meetings will be available in-person, or live stream through Zoom, as well as a dial-in conference call line. In an effort to enhance community engagement, community members may submit comments via email to icccpubliccomment@cityofirvine.org on upcoming agenda items, or community members may provide live public comments via Zoom during ICCC meetings.

HOW TO SUBMIT A COMMENT

Public comments can be made prior to or during the ICCC meeting via email to icccpubliccomment@cityofirvine.org  Instructions for providing live public comments will be provided at the beginning of the meeting.

The live stream will be available starting at 8:55 a.m. (5 minutes before the meeting starts). We suggest installing and testing the Zoom software on your devices before the meeting. Visit zoom.us/download for additional information.
