The Orange County Great Park, on a section of the former Marine Corps Air Station El Toro, continues its evolution across approximately 1,300 acres as it attracts visitors to its ongoing amenities. The City of Irvine-owned Great Park is an arts and sports recreational hub. Currently under development are 688 acres of parkland. Within that acreage is the development of a 194-acre Sports Park. Public-private partner Five Point Communities is opening its adjacent private land with new homes and non-residential, including a land sale to Broadcom Corp. near the Great Park that is expected to be a business magnet.
The Orange County Great Park announces the opening of “Surfing with Tom Carey,” a photography exhibit running March 4-May 14, featuring imagery of some of the world’s finest surfers at the most iconic beaches.
Walt Disney Productions designed the El Toro “Flying Bull” logo for MCAS El Toro in 1943. Visit the Great Park Gallery beginning June 3 for an exhibition of this and about 1,200 designs during World War II that came out of the studio. Click here for Great Park Gallery hours and information.
