After School Programs

Jump into fun with City of Irvine after school programming. Offered at six community center sites throughout Irvine, our programs provide a safe, affordable option for children who need after school care.

Kids Club | Kindergarten–Sixth Grade 

Kids Club, operated by City of Irvine staff, offers a dynamic space where children in kindergarten– sixth grade can play, create, and connect through fun activities and experiences. 

Hours: Kids Club is open from school dismissal to 5:30 p.m. Drop-off participants can arrive beginning at 2 p.m. 

*This program is exempt from state licensing.

Kindy Cove | Kindergarten 

If you need additional after-school care for your kindergartner, Kindy Cove provides children with hands-on enrichment activities including games, crafts, and endless fun.  

HoursKindy Cove is open from school dismissal to 2:30 p.m. Drop-off participants can arrive beginning 11 a.m. 

*This program is exempt from state licensing.

Eligibility

Children must be enrolled in kindergarten–sixth grade at a participating Irvine Unified School District elementary school to register for Kindy Cove and/or Kids Club. 

Transportation is only provided to children attending the listed Irvine Unified School District elementary school sites.  

Drop-off is available to all children enrolled in kindergarten–sixth grade. 

Transportation

Transportation to the community center is available for participants attending participating IUSD school sites.

Same day cancelations can be made before 10 a.m. for both Kindy Cove and Kids Club.

Financial Assistance for City of Irvine After School Programs

The City of Irvine has scholarship funding available that may be used for recreational activities offered through the Community Services Department including Kindy Cove, Kids Club, and seasonal camps.
