The City of Irvine will participate in the second annual Irvine Tech Week April 16–21, bringing entrepreneurs, investors, accelerators, and thought leaders together to learn, network, and expand the local Irvine startup community.

There are 16 events planned throughout the week, including a startup resource fair and kickoff event at the Irvine Civic Center Tuesday, April 16. The resource fair begins at 4 p.m., followed by the kickoff event at 6 p.m.

“The return of Irvine Tech Week underscores the critical role of innovation within our great City, said Mayor Farah N. Khan. “Throughout my tenure, fostering technological advancement and cultivating an entrepreneurial environment has remained a top priority. Initiatives like the Irvine Accelerator, in collaboration with Sunstone Management, and Innov8, exemplify our commitment to bolstering tech-centric endeavors. All these combined aims to attract and retain the most innovative ideas, individuals, and commercial ventures to our City.”

The City of Irvine is home to a wide array of industries, including technology, life sciences, and advanced manufacturing. It continually strives to foster innovation and collaboration through initiatives and events such as Irvine Tech Week.

“The City of Irvine is known as the ‘City of Innovation,’ and as we look into the future, we must elevate our economy and future-proof our community for the next generation,” emphasized Councilmember Tammy Kim. "I am grateful for the Council's support in my initiative for Irvine Tech Week, aimed at attracting start-up investors, incubating early-stage tech companies, and accelerating them right here in Irvine. Last year's inaugural Irvine Tech Week was a tremendous success, thanks to the support of our sponsors and community partners, and this year's event is expected to be bigger than before!”

Additional Tech Week events include panel discussions at various locations to showcase Irvine’s thriving ecosystem and to discuss the latest trends and industry innovations.

The Dream Run takes place Saturday, April 20, at 8 a.m. at Mike Ward Community Park — Woodbridge. More than 500 people are expected to participate in the 5K Fun Run and 3K FirstGen Color Run benefitting the Sunstone Community Fund, which supports innovation and entrepreneurship through educational institutions and nonprofit organizations.

The week of events concludes with a final celebration Sunday, April 21. The Wrap Party takes place from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Great Park.
