Improvements Underway at Turtle Rock

Construction is underway at the Turtle Rock Community Center and Nature Center to improve accessibility to these popular sites. The project began in January and is expected to continue through May.

The Turtle Rock Community Center was built in 1979, and was one of the first community centers established in Irvine. To maintain high-quality facilities and compliance with updated regulations governing community facilities, the City works proactively to schedule construction improvements such as the project underway at Turtle Rock Community Center and Nature Center.

Accessibility improvements at the Turtle Rock Nature Center include lowering the lobby service counter, renovating the restrooms, and replacing door hardware. Similar improvements are planned for the community center, along with the addition of a chair lift to the multipurpose room stage. Both facilities will remain open to the public during construction.
