City of Irvine Named Top Workplace for Second Year in a Row by The Orange County Register

The City of Irvine was awarded a Top Workplaces 2022 honor and ranked No. 17 – on the list of Large Companies with 500 or more employees – in the 15th annual The Orange County Register’s list of Top Workplaces awards and magazine publication.

This is the second consecutive year the City of Irvine has received this prestigious award, and the only Orange County municipality to receive this recognition.

“I’m thrilled that the City of Irvine has once again been recognized as a top workplace in Orange County,” said Mayor Farrah N. Khan. “This award, which is determined by employee feedback, speaks to our exemplary culture, leadership, and investment in our most valuable resource, our employees."

This is the 15th year The Orange County Register has partnered with Energage, a Philadelphia-based workplace survey and employer-relations company, to determine Orange County’s Top Workplaces. The results are based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey that uniquely measures 15 culture drivers that are critical to the success of any organization: including alignment, execution, and connection. Survey questions ranged from ranking an employee’s opinion on the efficiency of the company to sharing thoughts on the pay and benefits packages offered by their workplace.

Out of 4,180 employers invited to participate, Irvine ranked No.17 on the list of Large Companies with 500 or more employees and among the 169 employers who made the overall list. Employers are ranked among groups of similar size to most accurately compare results. Within those size groupings, companies are ranked, and those that score high enough are recognized as Top Workplaces. Any employer is eligible to participate as long as they have at least 35 employees in the county. Employers can be public, private, nonprofit, or governmental.
