Irvine Police Department Investigating Fatal Traffic Collision

A male pedestrian has died from his injuries after being struck by a vehicle.

This afternoon at approximately 2:25 p.m., the Irvine Police Department (IPD) and Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) responded to a reported traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle. The collision occurred near the intersection of Barranca Parkway and Shadow Oaks.

IPD and OCFA personnel administered CPR before the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

The decedent’s identity is not being released at this time.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area for the next several hours due to road closures.

IPD’s Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating this case. Anyone with information should contact Officer Roberto Solis at 949-724-7212 x2128.
