Irvine Fine Arts Center Showcases Local Students’ Work at High School Art Exhibition

The City of Irvine’s annual High School Art Exhibition is April 12–May 4 at the Irvine Fine Arts Center, with an opening reception April 12 from 4 to 6 p.m.

The multimedia show features original artwork — including drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, digital media, sculpture, and ceramics — produced by students from Irvine high schools. The works included reflect the scope of diversity and creativity of some of the youngest artists in the City.

Faculty from local high schools submitted students’ artwork to Irvine Fine Arts Center staff, who selected the final pieces to display. The show is juried by Chantal deFelice, who selected the top three works of art to receive prizes, as well as up to five honorable mentions. DeFelice is an illustrator and audiovisual artist with a penchant for science, literature, history, and travel. Her work has been exhibited at facilities throughout Orange County, including Artists Republic Gallery, Hibbleton Art Gallery, Grand Central Art Center, and Irvine Fine Arts Center.

The opening reception, exhibition, and parking are free. The Irvine Fine Arts Center is located inside Heritage Community Park at 14321 Yale Ave. For more information, visit irvinefinearts.org or call 949-724-6880.
