Universal Waste Irvine Drop-off Locations

The City of Irvine has launched a recycling program that offers convenient drop off locations for Universal Waste, which include batteries, cell phones, Compact Fluorescent Light (CFL) bulbs and other electronics that may not be disposed in the trash.

The process is as easy as 1-2-3

       1. Pick up a free collection bucket at these drop off locations:

Lakeview Senior Center, 20 Lake Road, Irvine

University Community Park, 1 Beech Tree Lane, Irvine

Hours of operation:  Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.

      2. When the collection bucket is full, bring it to either of the two Irvine drop off locations.

      3. Sort and empty bucket contents into specially marked recycling receptacles in the lobbies at either of the two Irvine drop off locations.

IMPORTANT:  To prevent breakage, before transporting your CFL bulbs, please package them in a sealed plastic bag.  At the collection center, place them carefully and gently into the receptacles marked for CFLs.
