Massive Oil Spill Threatens Wildlife and Closes Beaches - How You Can Help

Oil Spill
Monday, October 4, 2021

The oil spill off the Orange County coast is having a devastating impact on birds, fish, and other wildlife. Many beaches are closed and there is a ban on fishing or collecting any shellfish from Huntington Beach to Dana Point.

Please do not try to catch any oiled animals. Report wildlife concerns to the Oiled Wildlife Care Network at 877-823-6926.

We know many people want to assist with oil spill response efforts. If you are interested in volunteering, please visit the Southern California Spill Response website to register.

For regular updates on response efforts, visit the Southern California Spill Response website.
