Irvine Fine Arts Center Presents Silver Photography Exhibition

Tuesday, October 15, 2019

The Irvine Fine Arts Center announces the opening of Silver, a group photography exhibition that spans throughout the center’s galleries and features works in the realm of photojournalism, documentation, abstraction, surrealism, and more. An opening reception is 4–6 p.m. Saturday, November 23. The exhibition runs through Saturday, January 11.

Silver features 20 artists who call the Irvine Fine Arts Center Photography Lab a creative home. The title of the exhibition references the light-sensitive materiality of analog photography, the thread that weaves together the various works on view. Ranging in style and subject matter, the photographs in the exhibition are filled with a sense of wonder in the act of capturing fleeting moments on film, and they are transformed through the alchemy of the darkroom.

Exhibiting artists include: Remy Alegado, Carlo Andaya, Ray Barbee, Art Brandt, Eric Bryan, Christina Cao, Jennifer Chen, Jesse Childers, Christopher Fetter, Victor Hernandez, Brett Hillyard, Eduardo Jeronimo, David Kline, Christine Lee Smith, Guillermo Lefranc, Gabriel Magallanes, Wendy Ortiz, Nick Sosin, Michael Weitzman, and Hugo Zhang.

Irvine Fine Arts Center is at 14321 Yale Ave., inside Heritage Community Park. Gallery hours are 10 a.m.–9 p.m. Monday–Thursday, 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Friday, and 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Saturday. Opening reception, exhibition, and parking are free. For more information, call 949-724-6880.
