Irvine Children, Youth and Families Advisory Committee Seeks Applicants

IRVINE, CA (February 2, 2015):  The City of Irvine is accepting applications to fill two community member-at-large vacancies on the Irvine Children, Youth and Families Advisory Committee. Comprised of 15 members, the Committee is an advisory body to the Community Services Commission and provides ongoing review and evaluation of the Irvine Strategic Plan for Children, Youth and Families.

The Strategic Plan for Children, Youth and Families focus areas include:

  • Child Care and School Readiness
  • Support to Families in Need
  • Youth Alcohol, Substance Use and Other Risky Behavior Reduction
  • Youth Volunteerism
  • Health, Fitness and Well-being 

Applicants must live or work in Irvine and be willing to commit to a voluntary two-year term of active participation. Committee meetings are one Wednesday per quarter from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Irvine Civic Center. 

The application period begins Monday, February 9. Applications are available at Irvine Civic Center, 1 Civic Center Plaza, 2nd Floor, Community Services Department, or online at cityofirvine.org. Completed applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11 to:
