Irvine, Calif. (June 3, 2018) – The driver of a vehicle that ran into a traffic pole has died as a result of the crash. On June 3 shortly before 5 a.m., Irvine Police Department (IPD) and Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) personnel responded to the scene at Bake Parkway and Lake Forest Drive.

Upon their arrival, IPD officers found the vehicle engulfed in flames. OCFA personnel extinguished the fire and found the deceased individual. The person has not been identified at this time.

The intersection at Bake Parkway and Lake Forest will be closed for several hours while the Irvine Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team investigates the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Chris Ostrowski at 949-724-7047 or costrowski@cityofirvine.org.
