The City of Irvine has received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2021.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.

“We are proud to receive this distinction for the 43rd consecutive year,” said Irvine Mayor Farrah N. Khan. “This recognition speaks to our continued commitment to ensuring full transparency in communicating the City’s financial story. I want to thank the Financial Management and Strategic Planning Department staff for their excellent work on the 2021 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and throughout the year.”

The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report is the summarization of the City's financial activity for the previous fiscal year. The City of Irvine's fiscal year begins July 1 and ends June 30. The Comprehensive Annual Financial Report is prepared by December of each year.
