The City of Irvine has partnered with Love Irvine as part of the nationwide Love Our Cities effort aimed to connect people who want to help those in need by working with various nonprofit service providers, faith-based organizations, government entities, and schools.

As part of Love Irvine’s first Citywide Serve Day, the City of Irvine will host a community enhancement event May 22, 2021, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. This is an opportunity for the entire community to work together to serve and make a difference in Irvine. Volunteers will join the City to pick up litter on the Jeffrey Open Space Trail. Volunteer spaces are limited and registration is required. Participants will meet at the Trabuco Center to begin and gloves and trash bags will be provided.

“I’m thrilled our City is joining forces with Love Irvine to make our community stronger and more resilient,” said Mayor Farrah N. Khan. “I’m honored to host a Citywide Serve Day event where our whole community can work together to practically serve and make a real difference while demonstrating love and kindness.”

Love Irvine leads communitywide volunteerism and initiatives in the City. Love Irvine works with nonprofit service providers, schools, and government entities to vet out needs that people in the community have. They then connect to faith-based organizations, businesses, and individuals to present those needs as simply and straightforward as possible.
