February is black history month. In Irvine we celebrate our diversity and the many cultures that make up our resident-base, including our black community. It's a time to celebrate and honor those who have helped illuminate the path to a brighter future. 

On Tuesday, February 9 the Irvine City Council will recognize this important cause by proclaiming February 2021 as "Black History Month." 

In addition, every week this month we will highlight some of the significant figures and events in black history, and share these on social media. Be sure to follow us on all of our social media channels to learn more throughout the month.
