An application for a General Plan Amendment (GPA) was submitted by KB Home on June 14, 2019. The application proposes a GPA to allow future construction of 123 residential condominiums on the Racquet Club of Irvine property (5 Ethel Coplen Way). The GPA would change the General Plan land use category from Commercial Recreation to Medium-High Density Residential and increase the allowable number of residential units for Planning Area 19 (Rancho San Joaquin). Currently, there are 49 dwelling units available for construction in the planning area.
