The City’s partner in managing and providing public access to the Irvine Open Space Preserve is the Irvine Ranch Conservancy (IRC). IRC is a non-profit, non-advocacy organization created in 2005 to help protect and connect the public to the natural open spaces of the historic Irvine Ranch. The City and IRC work together through a contractual management agreement, under which IRC provides land management projects and public programs within the Irvine Open Space Preserve. On behalf of the City, IRC offers a wide variety of outdoor programs for all nature enthusiasts including hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and many other educational and volunteer opportunities.
