Northwood Community Center

Please note: One of two picnic shelters is always left open for first-come, first-served use for groups of 50 or fewer. The additional shelter is available is for reservations. Groups larger than 50 or those bringing in vendor services (such as bounce houses or catering) must make reservations. 

Programs

The City of Irvine offers a variety of classes at Northwood Community Center, including sports, arts, cooking, science, and recreational programs for kids; karate, tennis, and soccer classes; and adult fitness activities including Pilates. Available Facility Reservations

Multipurpose Room

Northwood Community Center’s 1,540-square-foot room multipurpose room features a carpeted floor and can accommodate banquet- and theater-style seating, with an option for a dance area. The maximum room capacity ranges from 75 to 105 attendees, depending on setup.

Courtyard

Reservation of Northwood Community Center’s 300-square-foot courtyard requires an add-on fee and is subject to availability. The courtyard features various tables and chairs, which are not movable. Maximum capacity is 30 people.

Kitchen

Northwood Community Center's kitchen is available for reservations only with a multipurpose room or meeting room reservation, and requires an add-on fee. No cooking of food is permitted. Prepared or catered food may be kept warm or cold by utilizing the kitchen amenities, which include a microwave, oven, refrigerator, and freezer. No barbecuing permitted. 

Meeting Room

Northwood Community Center's meeting room is 670 square feet with carpeted flooring that can accommodate banquet- or theater-style seating. The room capacity ranges from 21 to 69 attendees, depending on setup.

Classroom

Northwood Community Center's classroom is 880 square feet with carpeted and tiled flooring. The classroom can accommodate banquet- and theater-style seating. The room capacity ranges from 25 to 61 attendees, depending on setup.

Exercise Room

Northwood Community Center's 985-square-foot exercise room features bamboo floor and can be reserved for dance or exercise activities. No tables or chairs are permitted in this room. Maximum room capacity is 46 attendees.

Picnic Shelters #1 & #2

Northwood Community Center has two picnic shelters. Shelter #1 is located closest to the playground; Shelter #2 is in the back of the building. Each shelter includes six tables and two barbecues. Maximum capacity is 100 people per shelter.

Reservation Fees & Hours

Northwood Community Center's rooms are available for rent; hourly rates vary by room, group, and event type (see the Reservation Policy for more details). Please see the table below for a general overview of fees, or view a PDF version here. Reservations outside of regular operating hours may be subject to additional fees, noted below.

*A $20 additional hourly fee will be charged for reservations of premium rooms during primetime hours. Primetime hours are 5–9 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m.–10 p.m. Saturday, and noon–6 p.m. Sunday. Find more information on reservation hours and primetime fees here.

Please note: The above fees apply to room rental only. Events including alcohol will incur additional fees. Other needed services, such as security, porter service, or equipment rentals, are available with additional fees.
