Officers Attend Training at Korean Cultural Center in Los Angeles
On Thursday, June 6, 2013, twelve members of the Irvine Police Department attended a Korean cultural training seminar held at the Korean Cultural Center in Los Angeles. The purpose of the training is to provide officers with an understanding of Korean culture and customs. Attending the training were Lieutenant Allan, Sergeants Wolf and Ostrow, Detectives Hillyard and Cantwell and Officers Von Luft, Wieland, Ayres, Hawkins, A. Metevia, Morales and Steen.
The large group sent by Irvine caught the attention of a reporter from the Korea Daily Newspaper. In his interview, Lieutenant Allan explained that when the invitation to attend this training was received, the Department seized the opportunity to provide training that will further our goal of being as responsive as possible to Irvine’s diverse community.
