Irvine Ranked 3rd Best Run City by 24/7 Wall Street
Irvine has been ranked as the third best-run city in America in a ranking of the 100 largest cities by 24/7 Wall Street, the online financial news and opinion media group.
The rankings are based upon the local economy, fiscal management and quality of life measures.
Irvine has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the listing. The story also points out that, with more than 60% of the adult population holding a bachelor’s degree, “Irvine has the most educated population of all of the 100 most populous cities” in the nation.
The story also notes Irvine’s high household income and lowest violent crime rate of all the 100 largest cities.
In ranking the best-run cities in America, 24/7 Wall Street explained: “Each city has its own unique challenges and advantages. The strength of the regional economy, the level of state funding, and the presence of major corporations or industries can all impact a city’s prospects. They play a big part in a city’s employment levels, safety, and fiscal stability."
Plano, Texas was ranked No. 1 and Madison, Wisconsin was No. 2.
