Dan Jung honored by Mayor and City Council for 25 Years of Service to Irvine
On Tuesday, April 10th, Dan Jung, the Special Assistant to the Chief, received a certificate of recognition from Mayor Kang and members of the Irvine City Council for his 25 years of dedicated service to the City of Irvine.
Dan has served as Special Assistant to the Chief of Police since 2007. Prior to Dan’s transfer to the Irvine Police Department, he served as Executive Assistant to the City Manager and Director of Strategic Programs, assigned to work on a wide variety of City Council priorities. Dan also managed legislative affairs for the City and was instrumental in establishing the City’s first legislative platform and preparing numerous ordinances including prohibiting gambling, restricting smoking in municipal parks, lobbying regulations and a code of ethics ordinance.
Dan has been with the City of Irvine for 25 years starting his career in the Community Development Department holding various positions while involved in a variety of complex and sensitive projects. Dan also served as the City's first full-time Community Development Department Block Grant Coordinator in the newly formed Housing Services Section.
