Inauguration of the Orange County Regional Computer Forensic Laboratory

(January 5, 2010) This afternoon Chief Maggard attended the official inauguration of the Orange County Regional Computer Forensic Laboratory (OCRCFL), which is located in the City of Orange.  Present at the inauguration was the Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Robert Mueller and other partners in the Regional Computer Forensic Laboratory consortium.  Irvine is one of ten law enforcement agencies with a detective assigned to the OCRCFL.

The Orange County Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory is a full service computer forensic laboratory and training center that is staffed with highly trained expert examiners from the partnering agencies.  The laboratory is devoted to digital evidence examination for criminal investigations, including, but not limited to the following:

Homicides
Child Pornography
Violent Crimes
Terrorism
Theft or Destruction of Intellectual Property
Internet Crimes
Fraud
