News ImageUPDATE: POLICE INVESTIGATE DEATH OF WOMAN FOUND BURNED IN PARKING LOT
9/21/2009 

IRVINE, CA (September 8, 2009):  Irvine Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the victim who was found deceased and burned in the parking lot of a closed business early Saturday morning, September 5, 2009.  The victim is described as an African American woman in her early 20's, approximately 6' tall and 150 pounds. 

Attached is a sketch of the victim.  Anyone with information about the victim's identity is asked to contact the Irvine Police Department's 24-hour tip hotline at (949) 724-7192.

The Irvine Police Department will be aggressively enforcing the state’s occupant protection laws as part of California’s 2008 Click It or Ticket mobilization, taking place May 12-June 1. The campaign relies on heavy enforcement and public education as a means to help California achieve the highest seat belt use rate in the nation.

5/12/2008  CERT is a group of people organized as a neighborhood-based team that receives special training to enhance their ability to recognize, respond to, and recover from a major emergency or disaster situation. Teams are trained by professional responders in areas that will help them take care of themselves and others before, during and after a major emergency. The Irvine Police Department is currently accepting applications for its late spring CERT 18 class beginning May 20.

10/18/2004  There is an error on the Sample and Absentee Ballots for the November 2, 2004 election for the "Office of Irvine City Council."  Instructions incorrectly tell voters to "vote for no more than two (2)" candidates.  The correct instructions are to cast "No more than three (3)" votes for the "Office of Irvine City Council."
