Alarm User Awareness Class - For Residents and Businesses in Irvine

On Tuesday, April 17th, from 9am-10am, the Irvine Police Department will be presenting an Alarm User Awareness class at City Hall. Targeting residents and businesses in the City, this informative class is a valuable resource for those with security systems. Learn how to alleviate the frustration of false alarms as well as avoid the costly penalties associated with unnecessary police responses.

Community Emergency Response Team Training Held at City Hall
Wednesday evening, February 1^st, the Emergency Management Unit hosted what they hope will be a monthly training event for Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) members. The informative and always entertaining Sergeant van der Sluys Veer, presented information for CERT volunteers that they can take back to their neighborhoods and share with their family and friends.

Irvine Rotary Presents Public Safety Partnership Award
On Wednesday, February 1^st, the Irvine Rotary Club and Irvine Police Department presented the quarterly Public Safety Partnership Award during a breakfast held at the Rancho Senior Center.

The City of Irvine has been ranked No. 2 among America’s Best Run Cities, according to a story by 24/7 Wall Street. The ability for businesses to create jobs in a strong local setting was of particular importance. Irvine is home to two thriving business centers – Irvine Business Complex and the Irvine Spectrum.

Chief Maggard Swears in Officer Christopher King
On Monday, December 05, 2011, Police Officer Christopher King was sworn in by Chief Maggard in the Conference and Training Center. Officer King graduated from the Orange County Sheriff’s Basic Academy Thursday December 1^st. The graduation was attended by Deputy Chief Noble, Lieutenant Allan, Sergeant Egan and Officer Casas.

Congratulation Officer Joel Davis on More than Thirty Years in Law Enforcement!

On Thursday, November 10, 2011, friends and family filled the briefing room to say goodbye to Officer Joel Davis who is retiring after 25 years of service. Officer Davis began his career in law enforcement at the Grand Junction Colorado Police Department in 1980. Later that year he moved to California and took a job as a San Marino Police Officer.

Irvine Police Host Community Outreach Event at Orange Tree Square
On Saturday, December 3, 2011, between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., the Irvine Police Department’s Community Outreach Unit will host their first, Business Community Outreach Event at Orange Tree Square, Walnut Avenue and Jeffrey Road.
