Teen killed in single-vehicle traffic collision

Irvine, Calif.  – A 17-year-old girl was killed Monday morning when her car hit a traffic pole at Paseo Westpark and San Remo in Irvine.

On Monday, November 12 around 7:40 a.m., the Irvine Police Department and Orange County Fire Authority responded to the scene of the single-vehicle collision. The female driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Paramedics began CPR, and the girl was quickly transported to a nearby hospital. There, she succumbed to her injuries.

Paseo Westpark is closed between Alton and Barranca as the Irvine Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team conducts its investigation. The closure is expected to last several hours. Anyone with information is asked to contact Irvine Police Department Detective Jonathan Cherney at 949-724-7024 or jcherney@cityofirvine.org.
