Vehicle Strikes Pedestrians, Killing One and Injuring Three Others

Irvine, Calif.  (May 16, 2018) – A woman has died and three others were injured after a vehicle struck the pedestrians Wednesday night in the area of Ridgeline and Turtle Rock in Irvine.

The Irvine Police Department and Orange County Fire Authority responded to the scene at approximately 8 p.m. The pedestrians who were struck are family members: a male adult, female adult, female teenager and male teenager. The identities of the victims are not yet being released. Three were transported to area hospitals by ground while one was transported by medical helicopter. The adult female was pronounced dead after 9 p.m. The injuries of the other three victims are described as serious.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. No arrests have been made at this time.

Ridgeline remains closed to traffic in both directions.
