Missing Person - Located

Update: IRVINE, CA - At approximately 2:30 p.m., Leonard Romero was located. The Irvine Police Department (IPD) determined that Romero became lost and attempted to use a credit card at a gas station in Downey. The Downey Police Department responded to assist. Romero’s family has been notified.

10:15 a.m.: IRVINE, CA – The Irvine Police Department (IPD) is seeking the public’s help locating an 86-year-old man, who was reported missing yesterday afternoon.

At approximately 4:00 p.m. on March 7, 2015, IPD received a missing person report for 86-year-old Leonard James Romero. He was last seen at his Irvine residence at approximately 1:00 p.m. and left to pick up a family member at John Wayne Airport. He never arrived at the airport. He does not have a cell phone in his possession.

Romero suffers from mild cognitive deficits and possible memory loss. He has been entered into the Missing Persons database and area hospitals and airports have been notified. A Silver Alert has been issued through the California Highway Patrol. 

Romero is described as male with grey hair and brown eyes, approximately 5’5” and 145 pounds. He was last seen wearing a tan shirt, tan khaki pants, and brown shoes. 

He is driving a bright blue 2010 Toyota Corolla, license plate number 6KJC942.
There are no signs of foul play.
