Resources for Those Affected by the Fire

ANAHEIM, Calif. (Oct. 12, 2017) – An assistance center opens Friday morning in Anaheim to help residents whose homes were destroyed or damaged by Canyon Fire 2 as well as anyone else affected by the fire.

The center will be a one-stop shop for residents from any city or area affected by the fire and will include representatives from agencies and service providers who can help in the recovery process.

At the center, residents can find important details about home damage and next steps, electric, water, gas, phone and cable TV service restoration, homeowners insurance claims and more. The American Red Cross and Orange County Social Services Agency will be on hand to help with other needs.

What: Canyon Fire 2 Assistance Center

Where: East Anaheim Gymnasium (8165 E. Santa Ana Canyon Road, Anaheim)

Hours:  Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

  Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  Sunday, closed

The assistance center is a joint effort by the city of Anaheim, City of Orange, the county of Orange and the American Red Cross, in partnership with other local and state agencies and private service providers to offer basic help assisting residents in getting back to normalcy as soon as possible.

Many in the community have reached out about donating to those affected by the fire, as well as our first responders. At this time, no physical donations are needed.

Monetary donations for those whose homes were destroyed or damaged are being accepted by the Anaheim Community Foundation.
